Boozy Watermelon Orange Slushy July 13 2017, 0 Comments

It's summer and down in the Big Easy it is HOT. This watermelon, orange slushy is so refreshing and painfully easy to make! We like our liquor here, so add some vodka (or rum) for a boozy twist.

Prep time: 15 mins (not including freezing the watermelon)
Yield: 4 servings
Serving size: 1 8oz mason jar

Ingredients:

  1. Watermelon (1 quarter, peeled and cut into small pieces- 5 cups of fruit)
  2. Oranges (Juice from 6 large oranges- 2 cups of juice)
  3. Vodka (Depends how strong you like it)
  4. Optional: sugar

(Seriously, that's it!)

Directions:

  1. Cut the watermelon and let it freeze (it works best if you plan ahead and do this the night before)
  2. Juice the oranges
  3. Blend the frozen watermelon chunks and the orange juice in a blender
  4. Mix in some sugar to taste, if necessary
  5. Add desired amount of vodka
  6. Garnish with fruit
  7. Enjoy!
